Good looking scenery Pete.Shocked
Small error in the Alberni shot. There is a chunk of land at the south end of the paper mill which does not exist.
From altitude the area looks like mud flats and is almost always covered in water.
I guess with the large areas covered no product is 100% correct. Sad
Great improvement over default though. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

You are correct, Pete about Orbx PNW
Orbx Alberni Scenery
The old grass strip is still there but that's fine with me as a reminder when we used to land there in Cherokee in the 80s. I'm not sure this is where it was located, though.

OK so I've installed the 3 main base packs as I mention above , but I've also added the Global NA Airport pack (free) which adds about 300 improved airport sceneries Cool

Time to check out a few places .....

Not all of the following pics have the NA airport improvements ....

Bronson Creek BC area ....

Over flying Bronson Creek strip (no improvements here )

Atlin BC

Atlin with my scenery

Whitehorse ( no improvements here )

Ketchikan AK (no improvements here ) but there's a payware airport which I may get.

Ketchikan

Refueling at Dawson City YT - part of the NA airport pack

Dawson City

Yellowknife - - part of the NA airport pack. Hay River at the southern end of the lake has also been done . Love the terrain improvements here with the ORBX scenery.

You're getting there, Pete
Whitehorse in FTX NA SAK (south-central-Alaska with southwestern Yukon Territory and southwestern British Columbia - 202,000 sq. miles)
N.B This description by Orbx, not mine.

Great post, Pete, I'm happy for you that you made the move. Your selection of full fat regions is spot on. And yes, Ketchikan is terrific, you ought to add it to your list. And how about Juneau and Valdez? I'd say, get them too, they are worth every penny!! Especially Valdez, as it covers a lot of surrounding terrain too. Flying there in ORBX makes you almost believe you are there for real!

ORBX is like a drug Rolling Eyes

I'm hooked Laughing

Yep definitely getting these .....

PNW
Pacific Fjords
Northern Rockies
Southern AK

Plus a few selected airports to base my flights out of .... Ketchikan and maybe one other at this stage.

I just can't get over the huge improvement in the overall terrain, it's so life like. Very Happy
